Minerals & Resources

The Transcontinental Group (TRG) entered the resource and minerals sector in the early 1980s, and has since undertaken significant investment in a range of mineral commodities and projects in Australia and other locations across the globe.

TRG has been instrumental in discovering and developing deposits and establishing new mines, with key activities including:

•    The establishment of substantial new gold and silver mining operations in Indonesia and South Africa

•    The operation and management of gold and silver mines, acquired as a going concern, in South Africa

•    Investment in ilmenite and rutile exploration and mining in Western Australia and West Africa – including the proving up through feasibility of the Rotifunk rutile and ilmenite discovery

•    Gold and base metals exploration in Australia – leading directly to the founding of Ausgold Ltd and its discovery of a new greenstone gold province around Katanning, Western Australia

•    The development from greenfields of a significant epithermal gold and silver mine in Indonesia

•    The establishment of BMG Resources Ltd – a direct result of TRG’s early move into iron ore exploration in north Minas Gerais State, Brazil.

Together with its partners, TRG was also responsible for bringing together a team of international experts to carry out an extensive prospectivity study – believed to be the biggest undertaken in Australia to date –  for uranium. The study led to the founding of Regalpoint Resources Ltd, a uranium exploration and mining company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Currently:

Transcontinental is focussed on a newly acquired very advanced gold asset in Spain with a JORC resource in excess of 1.2 million ozs of gold and equivalent. We hope to elevate the resource to at least 2 million ozs prior to development.

Another area of high interest currently for us are what are commonly called Battery Metals. TRG has contracted to acquire tenements with high grade vanadium and titanium deposits in both North-West Australia and the Paiui region of Brazil.

Mr Trevisan (Tony) and Transcontinental have had a long history in the oil and gas industry with discoveries and production projects in Colombia (the Rubiales discovery)

Komi Oil Field  (Russian Republic) well enhancement programme, Ombrina Mare (Med oil and gas discovery) and other interests in Papua New Guinea and Malta offshore.
